19 Oct Hello there! | Austin Boudoir Photography
#FeelGoodBloggingChallenge
So, I have to decided to join Alex Beadon’s 7 day “Feel Good Blogging Challenge”! Check out what this is all about by CLICKING HERE.
This is Day One. Here we go!
1. Who are you?
Hello there! I am Elizabeth Zimmerman, your friendly neighborhood boudoir photographer! 😉
A few fun facts about me:
- I am a mama — my almost 4 year old boy is named Utah Everest.
- I am in love with shooting women in the boudoir setting.
- I married my high school sweetheart.
- I am a singer.
- My favorite musician is Ani DiFranco.
- I love bright colors, loud music, camera gear, organization, pens and lots of cheese!
- In my very seldom free time I love to lay around and relax while watching trash TV.
- My family is from Saginaw, Michigan but we moved down to ATX way back when I was about 2 years old.
- My favorite thing about myself is my perseverance. When my mind is made up to do something it WILL BE DONE — and as well as I possibly can.
- That’s another thing — I’m a perfectionist and have a “mild” case of OCD. 🙂

2. Why did you start blogging?
I first started blogging at the beginning of this year when I officially released my boudoir-exclusive website. I know it’s a great way to showcase my work and tell my client’s story! I also like to write personal blogs occasionally to give my readers a peek into who I really am and to hopefully help someone who may be struggling/celebrating/feeling a similar way.
♥
3. Who is your blog for?
I am writing for women ultimately. But specifically: for my past, current & potential clients. I want to attract women who may be considering pampering themselves with a boudoir session. But, in general I want to reach all women. I want my blog to be a resource for beauty tips (“Make-Up Mondays with Lauren Torres“), for confidence building (photo session blogs) and to give a sense of community among us women (like my blog about my miscarriage this past Summer — read that one by CLICKING HERE).

4. What’s something you’ve been working on lately that you’re REALLY proud of?
I would have to say the thing I’ve been working really hard on lately is my business. I watch videos, read, ask questions of my incredible boudoir mentors and try to absorb every little drop of information possible about boudoir photography.
I constantly imagine new shoot ideas, dream about my someday-studio and brainstorm marketing techniques. I feel like I am just always in “sponge mode”. I do my best to soak in every ounce of info out there! It’s consuming. And I have definitely seen growth in my business…and really, in myself.
Hard work certainly does pay off! I still have a loooooooooong way to go, but I do feel like I have accomplished A LOT & I am proud of that!
♥
5. What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you hope people take away from your blog?
Oooooooh! This is a toughie!
OK — I want all women to realize that it is okay, and healthy, and good to be a sexual being. Our sensuality and femininity should be celebrated, not hidden or forgotten.
I feel like I am walking the walk on this one too — I struggle with my femininity quite often. Especially after becoming a busy mom. Being in this business, though…I honestly feel like a butterfly, slowly shedding my cocoon. I have learned to love and embrace my womanhood. I enjoy dressing up and applying fun make-up to my face now. I buy dressier outfits, sexy underwear. Because I feel worthy of it all now.
THAT’S what I want women to take from my blog.
EMBRACE YOUR WOMANHOOD!
See you tomorrow!
